Life Path, Soul Journey

The Complexity of Tarot

The tarot is complex once you start studying it. It incorporates many sources, including astrology, numerology, the Kabbalah, and meaningful symbology. The number of each card is significant; for example, the fives represent change, and the nines indicate it’s time for reassessment. Aces are new beginnings, and tens signify the end of a cycle.

Determining Your Personality Card

Calculating Your Personality Number

To work out your personality (what you have to learn this lifetime), add the numbers in your date of birth together:

Example:

  • Birth date: 10th February 1972
    • 10 + 02 + 1972 = 1984
    • 1 + 9 + 8 + 4 = 22
    • Card (22) is ‘The Fool’ in the Tarot.

Lessons from ‘The Fool’ Archetype

  1. Journey to new and uncharted territories by traveling and emigrating.
  2. Plunge into new experiences, develop yourself, and be open to adventure through world travel, temping, and working at events, exhibitions, and markets.
  3. Take a ‘leap of faith’ and trust in success by starting new businesses.
  4. Live a carefree life without worrying about tomorrow—enjoy the party years, with no responsibilities and disposable income!
  5. Follow your heart, no matter how impulsive, by choosing avant-garde, extraordinary jobs with no set income or pension plan.
  6. Have courage and take risks, like backpacking around the world on your own.

Determining Your Soul Path

Calculating Your Soul Path

If your personality number is only one digit, your personality is the same as your soul path. If there are two numbers, add them together to work out your soul path, which is the spiritual essence you lead in all lifetimes, representing your inner wisdom and teacher.

Example:

  • 2 + 2 = 4, so my card is 4, ‘The Emperor.’

The Soul Path of ‘The Emperor’

The soul path of ‘The Emperor’ means you are a natural-born leader. Psychologists believe some people are born with a “business gene” that gives them a curious personality and entrepreneurial spirit. These people are risk-takers, but if they grow up in the wrong environment, it can lead them into dangerous situations. Imagine having that spirit in a criminal underworld. Look out, here comes trouble!

Traits of Emperor Souls

  • Have a controlling ability, decisive and authoritative.
  • Instinctively know how to reach the top.
  • Live according to the rules but also like making their own rules.
  • Aren’t afraid to make decisions for others, who may respect and allow it.
  • Can be defensive of their territory.
  • Need to learn to control their temper and respect others’ opinions.
  • Need to learn discipline.

Someone once told me that people on the Emperor soul path have the hardest time, but I attribute it to being the toughest!

Exploring Your Soul Path

Once you know which soul path you are on, spend some time looking at your soul card, noticing how you feel and react to it.
